As Xi Jinping faces the most serious internal turmoil of his rule, a wave of purges and disappearances is hitting the very core of his power. Security chiefs are removed, top allies in Shaanxi — Xi’s ancestral “dragon vein” — collapse one after another, and Politburo heavyweights vanish without explanation. From Fang Hongwei and Jing Junhai to Wang Xiaohong, Cai Qi, Ma Xingrui, and Li Xi, the signals all point in one direction: Xi can no longer hold the line. This episode reveals the fractures inside China’s political system and why Xi’s control is weakening from within.
